Beautiful birds!I can't imagine how hard they are to take care of though.
Not at all! I would say that dogs are twice as hard to take care of than an amazon. Amazons, just like all other exotic parrots, need mental and physical stimulation to keep them healthy and happy. Unlike dogs, however, their natural form of exercise would be the act of flying. However, humans have taken away the parrot's need to fly for its food (and, oftentimes, the flight feathers themselves), so many domestic birds occupy themselves with chew toys and happy huts and similar toys. If you can provide a few hours of active physical interaction, your bird will be more than contentOriginally Posted by Maltese_Love
