Remember Nitron--the dog I saw getting dragged? A couple weeks ago I posted that his original owner had taken him back. He was given away as they have a nutty neighbor who admits she hates dogs. Everytime Nitron barks she calls animal control. His owners were worried she was going to hurt the dog. I don't think he was barking excessively. I think the neighbor is just a truly a miserable person who wants to make others just as miserable as she is! They called last week and asked if we would be interested in him. Unfortunately, a GSD isn't a real good fit with our pack. Nitron does not like other male dogs and wouldn't be a sled dog. He also has no exposure to cats. Fortunately, my father-in-law lives just down the road, has no other dogs, no cats and has owned GSDs throughout his life! He's the only person we've ever trusted to take care of our animals.

Nitron moved in with FIL over the weekend. He already has his new owner wrapped around his big paws! We spent yesterday building him a big fenced area at his new home. He's kennel trained, knows hand signals, has basic obedience commands down pat, housebroken, and settling in nicely! I get to see him just about every day now--FIL works in our shop and plans to bring Nitron with him(He just can't mingle with our dogs. We'll build him a pen for his visits and dogsitting).

I felt really bad for his original owners. They were both in tears when they left. They obviously love him and he's been well cared for by them, but they couldn't see any other option than rehoming him. At least this way, they can visit and I'll send them pictures and updates regularly. This will be his last move.
