what do I do with 1lb of cooked bacon??

I forgot all about the bacon I had bought. I found the package in the fridge & it expires today. So I cooked the whole package hopping I wouldn't have to toss it all out.

So what on earth do I do with 1lb of cooked bacon?

Break it into small pieces and mix it into yummy treats for Cyrus

Of course, all of it isn't going to be used into one of these, but just a few ideas. Maybe make some of it and invite Cyrus and his parents for dinner?

Use the grease as suet and mix in little pieces

4 1/2 cups ground fresh suet
3/4 cup dried and fine ground bakery goods
(whole-wheat or cracked-wheat bread or crackers are best)
    1/2 cup shelled sunflower seeds
    1/4 cup millet
1/4 cup dried and chopped fruit (currants, raisins, or berries)
3/4 cup dried and fine ground meat (optional)
Melt suet in a saucepan over low heat.
Mix the rest of the ingredients together in a large bowl.
Allow the suet to cool until slightly thickened, then stir it into the mixture in the bowl. Mix thoroughly.
Pour or pack into forms or suet feeders; smear onto tree trunks or overhanging limbs and branches; or pack into pine cones.

if you have RAW bacon......LITTLE WEINIES wrapped in bacon!!!! cut the bacon into thirds then you wrap the little smokies in bacon (hold with tooth picks) and then place some of the brown sugar (you need about 2/3 of a cup for the whole recipe) on the bottom of a baking pan ( 9 by 13 ) then you place the little smokies on the pan and then place more brown sugar on top of them. cook in the oven at 375 for about 40 mins.

these are AWESOME!!! everyone should try them!!!

i always cook a pound at a time. i just wrap the remaining bacon in aluminum foil, stick it in the fridge. I take out a few slices and nuke them for a BLT or for eggs or a salad. i've never had it go bad-it doesn't stay around long enough!

No, seriously - oatmeal muffins with crumbled bits of bacon in them are not only quite yummy (they're not sweet) they're like a portable breakfast, nice and filling, and easy to eat anywhere! Honest!
