    weird behavior

Charlie goes to the door, scratches to be let out. Not to go potty, but to eat his poo. He acts like he's hungry and not eating HIS food much, but is beggin for ours. He'd rather eat his poo.

I was giving him Iams, but I guess he's allergic to it. So I switched to Natural Choice w/ the oat meal.

Sounds like he's not much on the new food; I'd try switching again...do you know what ingredient he is allergic to?

    unfortunetly not.

He will eat his food. When he's hungry. But he acts this way with any dry food. But wet food gives him gas.

    STINKY gas.

I've picked up all poo from the yard that I could find. Yet he still finds that tiny bit left over.

I'm wondering if this might have been a reason why the previous owners gave him up.

What is that stuff you feed him so his poo will taste nasty to him ?

There've been some other threads with the stuff you feed to make it taste bad over in the Dog Health forum recently.

Have you had him to the vet to see if there's any other digestive/nutritional issues with him? Maybe a vet could give you some idea of what food might work for him...Good luck.

Sounds like hes against his new food, if its hard food you should try wetting it with water or gravy to see if that changes his mind, he might not like the feel of crunching it, My dog eats my other dogs poo Its truely disgusting but our vet said its safe and we just need to try and break the habit, Ive heard that feeding the dog pineapple or pineapple juice can detter them from the taste of poo but You need to check that out before you try as Im not 100% sure its safe or works, Some fruits can be dangerous to dogs in excess so I would check it just to be safe
