I would really like a hamster at my mom's house. But the problem is me and my mom are both allergic to the bedding you use for hamsters. Is there anything I can use other then wood shavings??

There are several other types of bedding, but what I think is best is using the soft drink holders you get at drive through restaurants. Hampsters need to chew and that also makes their bedding. Ask friends and family to save their holders for you guys, paper towel rolls and toilet paper rolls too. If you use cedar or pine shavings you need to switch, those woods give off toxins and can also harm small animals. Carefresh brand white bedding is a good one to use, no pine or cedar oils.

I would go with the Carefrech bedding. That is what we use for Splinter, and it really helps with any odors that you could have. Maybe if you switch to Carefresh, Spike can stay with you too!
