    Went to the Cat Show(Pics)

I went to the kitty show last weekend and almost forgot to post the pictures. I saw the thread on the cat shows in CA and it dawned on me that I had not shared yet.

I watched some of the judging and that was interesting. The judges didn’t explain what they were doing, so I did not watch it a lot of that. I mainly wandered around an looked at all of the kitties. Gee imagine that.

I got some pictures, but not a lot. I may have been there at the wrong time but of the people were busy getting there kitties ready to show and I did not want to bother them. I found some really pretty kitties there that I almost came home with. There were also a couple of the local shelter there and had kitties to adopt, which I thought was great.

There was also a company there that was selling cat trees there for really good prices, and the prices were not just for the cat show. The most expensive tree that they had there was only $185 and that was a multilevel and about 6 feet. It was impressive and for the price it was really impressive. They also seemed to be well made. I was impressed, can you tell. I don't know if they ship, but they are out of Portland, OR. When I want another tree I will seriously consider buying one from them instead of making one. I have some picture of there trees that I will post also

Anyway onto the real reason for the post, pictures!

First here are the cat trees that I saw. If you want I can PM me or I can post the information for the company that made these. Sorry no website.
    1st Tree:

    2nd Tree:

    3rd Tree:

Now onto the Kitty Pictures. I cannot remember what all of the types are that I took picture of. I know that I got some Maine Coons, Ragdoll, Bengal, Cornish Rex. I have more but can't remember them all, so I will just post them all. If you want to know about a specific picture let me know and I will try to remember what it is.

    More to come.....

I went to a cat show in Oct and didn't take any pics b/c I was worried that people would get freaky about it.

What I did was find owners that weren't doing anything at that moment and looked like they would talk to me, some of them looked like they did not want to talk at all. I then would walk up compliment there kitty, and then ask if I could take a picture, all of the said sure. Most of them opened the cages so I could get a better shot and a few of them brought the kitties out of the cages for me.

So if you just ask, they usually should not mind pictures. the cats are generally used to the flash.

    This one is very beautiful:

Do you know what kind it is? Its fur looks different, like wavy or somthing like that.

They were all beautiful, I would love to have a Maine coon cat, They are truly a beautiful breed.

Thank You, kittycats_delight for my new siggy!!!

This breed is a Cornish Rex. The breeder loved his kitties and told me all about them. The reason for the wavy coat, if I understood correctly, is that is an undercoat. The breed has no overcoat, and I guess that good for people who have allergies. It is a very low dander cat. I did not pet it, because I had petted another cat, and I did not want to take any chances of spreading URI. However, there was a lady there that was able to and she said that the fur was soft as silk.

Hey Bryan - great pictures! I am so glad you had a good time!! The only regret I have is that you did not get atalkative judge because I enjoyed that part SO much. Most were all business but there was one very large man who obviously loved his job and adored every kitty and talked our ears off about every little thing he did. I learned so much from sitting there! He grinned at all of us and and just thoroughly put us all at ease! He made the whole event for me!! But, just being there and seeing the beautiful cats was heaven enough. Did you notice some elaborate setups that some of the owners have for their animals? That is something I noticed, Some were so fancy!! I must have hit a fairly not busy time - right before lunch because the owners were pretty relaxed and willing to chat about their pets and I liked that. Thank you for the terrific pictures Bryan! OH did you see any Sphynx cats - the hairless one? I am probably spelling that wrong, or any Russian Blues like Nakita??

Hehehe, you should have seen me and Tonya (Zippykat) at the cat show in New Mexico. We were simply dying to take pics but both too chicken to ask people. So all we did was run around sneaking pics of the judging and cat agility. I would snap my camera then turn around really fast so it looked like Tonya did it

    I LOVE THIS CAT :

Edwina! We didn't know your mommy was showing you these days! How do you put up with all those other - obviously inferior - kitties at the show? (You gotta admit, this one looks a lot like Ms Edwina. )

Great pics Bryan. I love seeing all the different breeds at the shows, and like when you find someone who is willing to tell you all about their breed. You really learn a lot. I, too, wish the judges would talk more so you can learn what they look for.

I'm thinking about showing Tubby. He'd get the prize for cat with the weirdest body shape.

Great pictures, thanks for posting. Did you see any Burmese cats? I go to a cat show every October. I used to show Beau when he was younger but, now I go by myself. I probably would go to more of them if I could drive

    Bryan,

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I LOVE going to cat shows! It also makes me miss showing my own cats.

This kitty looks EXACTLY like my Maya Linn!!!

I can tell you from personal experience that MOST owners don't mind you taking pictures of their cats providing you ask first. When I showed MooShoo, he drew such a crowd of people to his cage that I had to put up a curtain in front of his "kitty water closet" so that he had some privacy. The poor dude couldn't even take a dump without an audience! (sorry for TMI). I also kept a bottle of Hand Sanitizer on hand in case they wanted to pet Moo to see what he felt like. Like I said, most owners don't mind, as long as you ask permission.

Speaking of Moo....this cat looks like him with a fur coat!!

MooShoo, you left me too soon.I wasn't ready.Know that you were my soulmate and have left me broken hearted.I loved you like no other. 1999 - 2010See you again "ONE FINE DAY"
Maya Linn, my heart is broken. The day your beautiful blue eyes went blind was the worst day of my life.I only wish I could've done something.I'll miss your "premium" purr and our little "conversations". 1997-2013 See you again "ONE FINE DAY"
