I had to vote no because Fleetwood went to Rainbow Bridge almost 5 years ago. She lived to be 10Yrs.!!! Our vet said he'd never seen one so old. She was alot of fun. She was very spoiled and demanding I miss her 'WEEP' 'WEEP' 'WEEP' in the morning when the alarm clock goes off. I had to give her treats before I could have my coffee or feed the cats. She was a funny girl.

I am thinking about getting a guinea pig but don't know much about them. I want to educate myself first. Can anyone recommend a good book? Also, if anyone can answer any of the following questions: I have two cats. How do cats and guinea pigs get along? Is it better to have two piggies so they can keep each other company? Even if you have pigs of the same sex, is it better to get them neutered? What kind of cage is the best for them? Any help anyone can give would be appreciated.

    Guinea Pigs are the best!!

We have had Guinea Pigs for my children for the past 10 years ... Veronica just died last month. The first pair were 2 males and they got along great!! They were together since babies and were great company for each other and the kids just loved them!! The second pair were 2 sisters my daughter had for the past 5 years. Loved them and miss them!! Taking a break for now because my daughter is getting a parakeet and my son has 3 Uromastyx lizards. We live in a condo so the Guinea pigs were great pets!! Low maintenance although you can't leave them more than a day ... they need fresh food and water daily. They make the cutest squeaking noises when they are happy and they love to be held and cuddled. Daughter watched so many movies with her little friends!! I miss them as much as the kids do!!

You need to get your guinea pig to the vet, as the small white flakes could be several different things. Do that before bringing another piggie into the home, okay? It mite be something contagious!
