I watched Moondance Alexander to sort of preview it for my boss to see if she wanted to play it for the kids at saddle club. It was ok. The height of cheese, and I'm usually a sucker for cheese but this was way over the top.

I mean come on, she's on a tight budget so she buys rubber boots a used jacket, and a GPA helmet? GPA helmets start at like $300.

Last movie I saw in the theatre was Rise of the Lycans, I saw it opening day with my friend and we both loved it.

We never miss anything with Clint Eastwood so went to see Gran Torino yesterday and thought it was fantastic. I woke up this morning thinking about it - LOVE movies that make me do that. I will have to watch it again to see parts I missed. Eastwood movies have so many subtleties. Hubby and I generally have "different" taste in movies so am wondering if anyone else here has seen this one and what they thought. It was fun to see moments where "Dirty Harry" appeared We both laughed and cried.

    Taking Chance -************************************************** **

Can I give it TWO LEAKY EYES or LES's?

HBO premiered this short movie, based on the notes of a Marine officer who volunteers to escort the body of a young Private who us killed in Iraq.

I watched it twice tonight because I could not get through it the first time.

A very touching story about how our soldiers 'get home' when they are killed in combat.

For me, this movie especially reinforces the notion that the caskets boing brought home from overseas should NOT photographed and printed as a media propaganda tool.

To take one dead soldier's casket and use it in the media as a representation of all the the rest is a slight to the families of service people and the men and women who prepare and escort them to their final resting places.

Great movie, see it if you can.

"Burn After Reading" w/Brad Pitt, George Clooney, John Malkovich, all my faves. It should've been titled "Burn Instead of Viewing". Ugh.

I saw the Slumdog Millionaire cast interviewed at the awards show last night.

The kids were obnoxious and as they got more and more excited, they sounded like one of those overseas tech calls where the tekkie has had more that three cups of coffee!

No thanks, I'll pass on that flick.

What's a million in rupees, anyway?
IT's only 20.070.20 in U.S.D. and there are no dogs in the movie.

    THUMBS DOWN.

I have heard nothing but good things about that film. I love Clint Eastwood, he has just really made some incredible films. I really love Million Dollar Baby, and have heard that this is as good.

I saw "Milk" last night. Everyone should go see this movie. It was amazing, and I cried and cried at the end even though I knew how it would turn out! It is amazing to me, that in 1978 California voted "no on prop 6" but in 2008, it was "yes on prop 8" - it really made me think.
