Thanks everyone, once again! He's almost acting like his normal self again!! We went on a walk today and yesterday, and I took the cone off and he was so happy!

He's barking right now and thats so good to hear.

His sores are getting a little better but he still wants to bother them.

Audrey - it was rat poison he had ingested on the 14th. We took him to the vet when we found out, on the 15th, but it didn't show up in his blood test or anything, and we weren't 100% sure he'd eaten it, so they just gave him one shot and told us to bring him back if he started bleeding in the gums or rectum.

So it was about a week after that when we noticed somethign wrong, and we didn't think it was the poison because we didn't know it could still be there after a week, plus this one poison control person told us it wasn't, AND he was limping and we all thought he hurt his leg. But he continued to get worse so we took him in and it was the poison.

-thank you Poppy for the avatar.

Glad to hear he's doing better. I hope he continues & gets back to his full normal self soon!!! Still sending good thoughts to you both!

I have never ever heard of a blood test that can determain if they ingested poison????? Maybe another type of blood test? Do you know the name of the blood test? I'd really like to learn about it.

okay major! good! hope you'll keep feeling better and please don't scare us more..

(and lv4dogs, I'm so sorry about yours too!) I wonder what's the name of test too - my golden, crayola goes everywhere with me, work, school and has a high possiblity of catching chemicals or whatever. he almost was posioned by bleach crumbs - I'd want to be prepare!

anyway, sweet major, be 100% well soon! you both are still in my thoughts - let us know the complete outcome ok?

    ((((major))))!
    ..gina & crayola
rest and sleep softly sweet locke..
