    Update

    Hi everyone. I made my appointment to see a surgeon on April 6th at 10am. I also told my mom about my lump tonight. She was very comforting and supportive. She's also going to go with me to see the surgeon.
    She told me that when she had breast cancer both the mammogram and ultrasound showed nothing. She had to have fluid extracted from the lump which was under her arm. It was actually an enlarged lymph node.
    I'm so glad that she'll be there with me because she'll know what to ask the doctor and she knows much more about breast cancer than I do. I'm so glad that I decided to tell her before I received my results. It feels like a giant weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.
    I'll keep you updated as soon as I know anything more.

    Tracey, I am so glad that you have told your Mom. She will be able to ask questions that you otherwise might not remember, or not know to ask.

    Mainly, she will be there to support you and share your apprehension and concern.

    Mostly, I am sorry that you have to go through this. Please know you will have my prayers for a good outcome.

    Tracey my heart goes out to you, I can imagine how scared you are, you will know my mother had breast cancer last year and just underwent her mammogram this week, its been a year, we have been waiting on tenderhooks for the results, they are ok, so Tracey I can imagine how hard this is for you, please remember not all lumps are cancer, and i know because of your mothers history you are very frightened, i will be thinking of you, and hoping for everything to be ok, please feel free to pm me anytime, I am here to offer you my support and help ,I send you a big hug, please take care .

    P.S A few of you mentioned that mammograms did not pick up your lumps, even though this was the case, please don't loose faith in these, my mother's was so small and was picked up by the mammogram only, not by physical exam, infact usually the machine does not pick them up so small, so maybe the machines are better now a days.

    Still thinking of you and praying for you. I'm so glad you mom will be going to the doctor with you. A second pair of ears really helps when there is something stressful in the air...

    {{{hugs}}} Do take snuggle time with the cats, they'll help you deal with the anxiety as you wait.

    Hang in there! {{{more hugs}}}

    I'm glad your mom will be there with you during this. I'll be praying the lump is nothing to worry about and that soon this will be in the past for you.

    Update

    Hi everyone. This morning I had a mammogram and an ultrasound done. I was told that the results for the mammogram will take 4 working days and the results for the ultrasound will take about 2 days.

    When I got home this evening, I had a message on my answering machine from a doctor. He was calling to give me the results from one of my tests. I got home too late to call back and he won't be in tomorrow. He gave me a number to call and I'm supposed to ask for his assistant and then she'll get a doctor to explain the results to me.

    I'm feeling very scared because I didn't expect to know anything so soon. I feel like they're trying to rush the tests because there's something terribly wrong like cancer. I sure hope I'm wrong. I'm still trying to stay optimistic though.

    Please send some more prayers and positive vibes my way. Thanks again in advance.

    I hope the doctor was trying to call quickly because he knew you were nervous about the results. Still keeping fingers crossed that the news is good {{{hugs}}}
