Thread: What was your favorite TV show as a kid?

Hybrid View

  1. #1
My favorites were Full House, Family Matters and Boy meets World. I loved TGIF as a kid and always watched it with my cousins at my grandmas house.

I watched a lot of "old re-runs" as a kid like: Bewitched, Leave it to Beaver, Little House on the Prarie, and The Brady Bunch.

I also loved Family ties, the Cosby Show, and Growing Pains.

I too liked Under The Umbrella Tree, and Kids Incorporated, but I didn't have cable and only got to watch it at friends houses.

There are so many but those were some of my favorites.

talking about all the old tv shows makes me homesick for the good ole days when there was actually something good on tv.
    Remember Beverly Hillbillies?
We picked up a cd with 4 episodes a couple of weeks ago. That granny was so hillarious! Even my son was howling.

We didn't have cable until I was out of high school I think! However there were still plenty of shows to watch on the major networks and I saw them ALL! I love all the classic 70s and 80s shows.. My favorite sitcom of all time is PERFECT STRANGERS! I hope to see all the seasons out on DVDs someday, that will just be the greatest thing in the world!

Other favorites include, in no particular order: Three's Company, Laverne and Shirley, Happy Days, Joanie Loves Chachi, Mork and Mindy, The Jeffersons, Alice, The Brady Bunch, All in the Family, Mr. Belvadere, Growning Pains, Full House, The Wonder Years, Doogie Howser, Different Strokes, Fantasy Island, The Dukes of Hazzard, The Incredible Hulk, Family Feud, The Cosby Show, Happy Days, Small Wonder, Silver Spoons, I Dream of Jeanie, Bewitched, Family Ties, The Facts of Life, Little House on the Prairie! And as an adult now with cable I also enjoy the classic 50's shows such as I Love Lucy and Leave It To Beaver- and I also love The Honeymooners!

And I suspect I will think of a dozen more I forgot to list after this is posted! choosing favorites is just so hard I had to list them all! LOL

    Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom!

Loved those wild animal film clips....

The things that bother me now (sometimes) are the
'hyena feasting blood fests' - OK, I know the hyenas eat raw meat- But, do I HAVE to watch all the tendon-popping, intestine-stretching, bone-cracking closeups???????

And the animal 'sex' scenes...I'm not a prude but why do I have to be enjoying warthogs with my nephew or niece when the scene changes to
    Warthog Porn??????

But I did enjoy the Older Guy sending his assistant to go "wrestle and tag that alligator".

Wow, what a flashback this thread is!

... All in the Family, Hogan's Heros, Three's Company, Laverne and Shirley, Happy Days, Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, Mork and Mindy, The Jeffersons, Alice, The Brady Bunch, Growning Pains, Different Strokes, Fantasy Island, The Dukes of Hazzard, Wonder Woman, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman, Charlie's Angels, Family Feud, The Cosby Show, My Three Sons, I Dream of Jeanie, Bewitched, Family Ties, The Facts of Life, Little House on the Prairie, Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street, Lassie, Star Trek, The Carol Burnett Show, Twilight Zone, Rocky and Bullwinkle...

You know, I can remember never understanding "Soap" at all. I guess I was too young when I was trying to watch it.

My brother loved the Swedish Chef on the Muppets and could do a perfect imitation of him.
"We give dogs the time we can spare, the space we can spare and the love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made" - M. Facklam

"We are raised to honor all the wrong explorers and discoverers - thieves planting flags, murderers carrying crosses. Let us at last praise the colonizers of dreams."- P.S. Beagle

"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king." - J.R.R. Tolkien
