    What is the tool, machine, food that you absolutely need in your kitchen?

    Pick one or all three. Dishwashers do not count.

    Tool: My veggie peeler.

    Machine: can opener, electric.

    Food: Tomatos-canned, fresh, sauces!

    My little Black & Decker chopper! It is a life saver!!! Got it when I got my husband!

    Next in line are the Cuisinart Food Processer and the Kitchenaid Mixer.

    Food: water, soda and beer (oh, that's not food)

    tool-knife sharpening steel for my knives, this has made my cooking life better and less dangerous, henckel knives are really good, they do keep a sharp edge
    machine-drip coffee pot with autotimer, so the coffee is finished as i stumble to the door to let the dog out at 5:20am and then pour the correct cat crunchie in the correct bowls at 5:30am
    food-coffee and half and half, stuff of life itself...then the bread and butter

    Of course I wouldn't ever give up my microwave, but other than that my blender is something I really enjoy.

    I'm with Pam on the food: cereal is something I have every single day. Can't say that about anything else.
