My first car was a 1968 Ford fairlane. It was light green with a dark green vinyl roof. Great car, but it had a weird electrical problem! I could turn on the parking lights put on the LEFT turn signal, and the radio would turn on with out the key being in the ignition. After that a 1981 Pontiac Phoenix maroon with a white vinyl top, a 1984 Chevy celebrity, a 1991 Olds Ciera, and my current ride, a teal blue 1994 Olds cutlass surpreme coupe with only 67,700 miles, affectionately called "Ole Blue"!

My very first car was a 1989 Chevy Cavalier 2 door. I loved that car! I had it for 3 years and every year I got in an accident with it!! None of them were my fault however, I just kept getting hit by stupid people!! The last one was a drunk driver who hit me head-on because he was driving on the wrong side of the road That totaled the car with 118,000 miles on it. Then my mother gave me her old car, the ugliest car in the world...a teal Plymouth Sundance. i took that car to NYC with me and never had to worry about it getting stolen because who would want it??? That car had 142,000 miles on it when it kicked the bucket. Then I bought the car I still have, a 1997 Honda Civic 2 door red . I love Hondas since they last forever....this one has 121,000 miles on it and I plan on keeping it for at least another 5 years....

It's amazing to me that all these kids have cars!! I didn't get my first car until I was 21!!! And I had to buy it myself, no help from Mom and Dad!!

My first car was a '93 Beretta...I killed it! LOL, by the time I was done with it, the drivers side window didn't go all the way up, the drivers side door handle broke off, so I had to get in from the pass. side. My 2nd car was my graduation present, with MY name on the title...a 2000 Mustang. It had 6 miles on it. Now I am driving a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee...upgrading hopefully soon to a Pontiac Grand Prix GT!

I forgot about a couple of cars! In betwen the Fairlane and the Phoenix, I had a '76 Ford granada two door (brown), a '79 Granada four door (light green with a dark green vinyl top), and the absolute worst car I ever owned, a 1973 maverick (a Big YUCK!).

How exciting!! Congrats on your new wheels!

My first car was one I bought from our neighbors. A 1985 Nissan 300ZX. It was red and sporty and really fast.

I feel really old! My first car was a 64' plymouth valiant that looked like this http://www.ornocar.com/1962to1965mopar/images/janne.jpg

You pulled up a lever and pushed a button to put it in drive...I moved up to a puke orange 1966 valiant for my second car...bought for $600 bucks from an old couple...it still had the sun shades in the back....woohoo....first gear wasn't synchronized....that was fun!

A family friend gave us his old car since it was just sitting in his garage. It runs perfectly and has low milage, considering its age. I'm too lazy to get my learners so my mom's driving it until I do the test.

It looks something like this. Not bad for a free car.

I'm also saving up for a used motorcycle. Gas and insurance is way cheaper.

My very first car was a Ford Mustang. Nobody told me I had to put oil in it or have the oil changed so my friend and I drove 35 miles to the beach. We were cruising down the strip (thinking we were sooooo cool) when we smelled something burning. We pulled over and the whole damn car overheated. There was smoke everywhere! It was very embarassing because EVERYBODY in the whole world (at least that's what it felt like) was staring at us and laughing. The moral of the story.....put oil in your car and have it changed every 3,000/5,000 miles!

Congrats!! Getting a new car is always exciting but especially when it's your FIRST one ever. That's a nice car too. My best friend has a '97 or '98 black Grand Am and I love driving it. Have lots of fun!

My first car was a '96 Chevy Cavalier. Two doors. It was this weird pink-purple color. It really stood out and everyone always knew it was me. Then I lightly tapped someone's butt on the beltway during rush hour traffic and that little teensy tap totaled my poor baby so last month, I had to buy my second car ever. I like it but it isn't the same!

Hey, I had that car! It was silver abnd I loved the look and feel of it. One word of caution to keep you eyes out for - it has TONS of blind spots. So when you merge into traffic or change lanes, etc, be EXTRA CAREFUL. I ended up trading it in because I did too much highway driving and never felt safe due to the blindspots. I wish you luck with it though.

My first car was a 1982 Buick - a TANK . It guzzeled fuel like nobody's business, but I loved that car. I cried the day I traded it in.

Congrats!! I'm a Pontiac owner too.

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE. It's my second car.

My first car was a 1984 '98 Oldsmobile.

Here's some images... not mine....my gal was grey

It was the family car passed down to me when I was 16. I loved that car. In 2001, I sold her. Didn't really want too. She had over 300,000 miles and was still running. But I was taking longer trips and wasn't sure if she could handle it.

So when I sold her I bought the Grand Am.

Just don't do what I did to mine this past Feb....

My first car was a 1966 3-cycle engine Saab - the ones that looked like an egg on wheels. Three-speed on-the-column transmission and you had to put oil in with the gas each time you filled up. Gawd I loved that car! Blew two engines in it and finally gave it to my brother who drove it to death many years later.

After that I drove my mom's old Pontiac Bonneville, the Volvos - both a sedan and a station wagon. The first car I bought myself was a bright green Datsun B10. Traded that one in on a Datsun 280ZX - LOVED that one, but due to some unfortunate life-circumstances that I won't get into here, it was repossessed. I didn't drive for a number of years until I finally got sober.

Then I bought a friend's 1986 Plymouth Champ that I drove to death and traded in on a new 1995 Ford Aspire. The Aspire just expired this past year and so ....

This past Christmas my big gift was a brand new Ferrari Red Chevy Aveo:

I really like this car! It had 41 miles on it when I drove it off the lot .... I'm a happy commuter these days!
