I actually came to PT as a place I wanted to occasionally visit so I could ask questions and share pictures of my first pup, Mickey. But I ended up just loving the atmosphere. People here actually understand what it is like to have love for an animal. Plus I have learned a heck of a lot of stuff here. This place has helped to thicken my appreciation for animals, nature and hobbies like photography and web design. PT has also helped to introduce me to certain breeds and animals. Like Ashley said, we are all so different yet we all love animals, which is what really brings us together. Through all the disagreements we may have, when support is needed for a member or their pets, we all come together in a really amazing way.

I have met so many great people here and you all make PT what it is. The ones who I can IM anytime to be as silly and stupid as I am, the ones who are always there to support the others and anyone who shares pictures, information and stories on their pets or themselves. Thanks guys.

Oy. I'm done, haha. I'm no good with sappy things.

There are so many things that make me glad to have found PT. I never intended to look for a pet forum, nor did I have any wish to join one. I just ended up on PT one morning when I decided to click on *Pet Talk* after about a year of visiting petoftheday.com. I never left.

I have been here for over two years now, and PT has become an everyday routine and a huge part of my daily life. No day is complete without visiting PT. I love that I have a place where I can posts pics of my pets and talk about them without being teased for my love of animals. In real life, people just don't understand why I love my birds and animals in general so much. Here on PT, I don't have that problem. Everyone shares my love for animals, and everyone understands why I love my pets so much.

I also love this place because I never get bored anymore. Before PT, when I had nothing to do, I *really* had nothing to do. I would get bored during the summer and during vacation when we weren't going anywhere, and I was staying at home, most of the time. NOW, I look forward to summer so I can have more time to spend on PT. It really is a pleasure to be a part of this board, and to have made such wonderful friends on it.

As to people, while EVERYONE on PT means a great deal to me in one way or another, there are several here that I have become very close to during my years on PT, and some that I love even more than my friends in real life. I have so many good friends here that I love and cherish, but if I name them all, the list will be endless. Those of you who mean a great deal to me all know who you are.

I don't know how life would be without PT. After being here for over 2 years, I can't really remember how things were before I joined this site, and I can't really remember what I used to do on the internet. Now its like the only site on the internet for me is PT. I hardly visit any other, and I'm always late in checking my emails and responding to them now........which isn't good, but checking PT comes before checking my emails.

Hmmmm, Pet Talk, why I'm glad I have it!

Firstly, naming names is not a good thing because it can lead to hurt feelings. Every pet and every Pet Talker is special to me.

    I love the support
    I love the humour
    I love the drama

    and

I love to come to a place where I can laugh at myself and allow others to laugh along with me.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I think I'm even more appreciative of my kitties than before PT. More than once I've told them how wonderful they are and if it wasn't for them, I never would have found such a fun and caring web site full of fun and caring people.

This is a nice thread . I haven't even been here a year yet, but I feel so incredibly attached to this place and all the people that are a part of it. It was an impulsive thought that brought me to Pet Talk one day. I was sitting and thinking of my pups and birdies, and how incredibly much they meant to me, and suddenly I yearned so badly for others to really share that with. On a whim, I did a google search for "pet message board." My intention was to look around and see if any boards appealed to me.

Pet Talk was the first I visited, and the last! When I came, and looked at Pet, Dog, and Cat of the day, I was charmed. Then I looked at the forums, read posts, looked at pictures, and was overwhelmed with a desire to jump in share my pets and enjoy seeing and reading about other people's beloved pets. I was addicted almost immediately, posting up quite a storm. I remember when I first posted pictures, and how thrilled I was at the wonderful responses.

Pet Talk has become very special to me. I have made some close friends, and truly have come to care for all of you here. Thanks for accepting me with open arms Pet Talk, and making me a part of this wonderful family

I love PT so much. It's a really special place.

Like others said I feel like we are one huge happy family. I love how I can get support here, a good laugh, and a place to just be with other animal lovers.

My first internet message board experience was on the Xena nutforum. That was a very fitting name for it too. Boy was that place a hoot. I made several really close friends there, but got majorily burned by someone too. The behind the scenes of that place would make for a great TV Movie of the Week. Makes Pettalk look like a Disney Movie in comparison.

Anyway, sometime after Xena, I got very dog obsessed. I really needed an outlet for that, because I was driving my friends and family nutz. I stumbled on Pettalk through a yahoo search that landed me on Dog of the Day. I think I may have lurked like all of a day or two, before I decided to start posting. Seemed like a very friendly and inviting place.

I don't think I quite use the place the same as most. I really don't reach out to make any close friends, which I have no doubt is due to the Xena experience, but I really wanted a place to release all my dog talk. Truthfully, nobody could respond to me and I'd probably still go on chattering away to myself about Oz did this or Gully did that or something Murph did. Not that I'm suggesting that anybody do that, of course, because I do enjoy people talking to me. This is definitely a very cathartic place for me, being able to write out my thoughts on the 3 most special beings in my life and there's not enough thanks in the world for how much the outpouring of sentiments towards Maddie when she died, meant to me.

Pretty great place to hang out and I don't see my chattering stopping anytime soon.

It is wonderful to find people who understand how you are about your babies.

The moral support here is AWESOME and it helps during those stressful times when you need support from people who understand.

It is wonderful to see everyone elses babies and to see them grow, to hear their stories and hear their antics.

I am AMAZED at (ugh oh) how EDUCATIONAL it is here.. Have a question, just ask and you get many good answers that help!

To see stories like my loves, Maggo, and little Tabitha are so heart lifting.

To see HOW hard a lot of people work to just make a differance in the lives of babies that were abondoned, mistreated, lost or abused.....Also heartlifting.

I have learned a lot here, mainly, the human race has NOT gone to hell, there are those who REALLY care!

Thank you to all My PT friends for the impact you have made on my life too!
Laura, I could not have said it better ......... I hope you don't mind me "tagging" onto your post.

Everything about PT makes me glad.

(This is not a paid endorsement)

Ed came to live with me about 2.5 years ago.

I never owned a cat before and for the first seven months it was
Edward teaching me about what it's all about..

I was searching for some general info and came across the COTD
    site....

    OHHHHHHH---pretty kitties!

I found the message board and lurked for a bit.....then, PT bit me.
It's more than a place to ask questions and get info about our kids....

The one thing that makes me jealous as all heck is the people who have taken in the less fortunate animals who opened up their homes, loved them and have taken exceptionally great care of them.

I was very taken about Bob's story earlier this year.

I had to keep my eyes from misting up on the way home. It was kinda awkward trying to explain why my eyes were red - all because of a sick kitty, half a world away.

I wish I had the testicular fortitude to care for animals like the rest of you. I'm just a huge softy..

    ---------------------------

    PS
I'd like to think that it was the emails from Pet Talk, to my Governor, Arhnold S. that tipped the scale in our pets favor..

I can promise you he won't do it again!!!

This is what made me join:
    http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthre...highlight=duke
Duke was DOTD on 10/7/2001 And I regret not getting more actively involved until I got my digital camera. But, I'm so glad I did! I don't want to name any names because there are way too many special people here for me to overlook someone. And, I want to thank Karen and Paul for such a great place and for also saving all these entries. Because I happened to think last night that I had lost a lot of those from my old hard drive. I've still got to find all the old Chance threads but I'm so happy to know they're still there. I really don't know what I did without this place. Someone at work the other day was kind of laughing at me(not in a bad way) because I had all the things for a July 4th photoshoot. I told them a lot of people do it. I just love this place because everyone is animal crazy like me.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

I think the biggest person who makes me feel glad i found PT is..

Julie [Goldenretrluver].. - She's a really awesome friend, we are always thinking the same thing at the same time, i can talk to her about anything, and if i didn't join pet-talk i would have missed out on such a great friend...

Some of my best friends I found on Pet Talk! I'd have to say great friends is the number one reason I'm glad I found Pet Talk.

Also Pet Talk is a wonderful place because there's other animal freaks like me. It's great to be able to share photos and stories about my dogs and people actually enjoy them, not think I'm nuts.

You what's sad is that I used to actually like, surf the net, visit chat rooms, etc.......Now I can spend hours on the internet visiting just one website, Pet Talk!
