Not wanting to stir up the pot.....I just have a different view of the 'proceedings' and the fall out from this case.

No one deserves to be killed in that fashion. Period. That said.....

One of the people that I absolutely cannot stand is Denise Brown.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion..but...

On Sunday night DB came out and LIED thru her teeth..I have no repect for her and find that all her testimony, tears and the foundation she shills for to be a pile of horse puckey.

To this day she maintains that she never saw OJ 'hit' her sister.

    http://simpson.walraven.org/db_depo1.html

Reading thru this deposition you'll find that she was a witness to an incident where OJ pushed Nicole to the ground and she was the person who took the photos of the bruises that her sister suffered at his hands.

She also testified to an instance where Nicole, OJ and her were at a bar. There was a fight and OJ pushed Nicole against the wall, grabbed her crotch and said something like, "this is where my babies come from.."

Had it been my sister, things would have been different.

While she may not have been a witness to the actual beatings, her knowledge of the results probably has haunted her for her inaction...She had seen some violence, heard about other instances and witnessed the results of a beating...

I may be wrong but I never heard DB tell her sister that this guy was wrong for beating on her.
She kept her mouth shut and her sister got killed-and IF SHE HAD told Nicole and she disregarded those warnings could it be possible that tings would have turned out differently?

    ----------------------------

I know that domestic violence is not acceptable in any situation.

I had a conversation with a woman where I questioned the reasons that Nicole stayed around Lost Angeles and OJ. This woman told me that she was in an abusive relationship and had no money, alternatives or family to depend on.

Nicole had money and there were two homes she could have moved to-one in San Francisco and the other on the East Coast.

You'll read in the depostion that DB had heard that OJ "would kill Nicole".

I'd like to think that some people, after getting beat upon, spied upon and yelled at would learn that the best place to be would be far away from someone who repeatedly abused them.

Denise Brown is a phoney and she tries to get public support as a way to absolve her conscience.

If you stop and think about it, could a few sisterly words and some common sense prevented a double slaughter on the streets of Lost Angeles that night?

    We'll never know....

I respectfully disagree. Our justice system, like any system designed for and by people, has flaws.

Case in point - just look at the heinous murders committed by members of the KKK. Some got caught, went to trial, and the jury of their all-white peers found them to be "not-guilty".

True, but, that is our system of justice. Flaws and all. I am simply stating what our system is...and it is a system I buy into, believe in, subscribe to, and work in. To say, "well, our system works, but, not in the OJ case.." is like saying, "well, I always tell the truth, but, not when I lie..." I don't believe you can disclaim a particular part of the system, but, still find it credible most of the other time. I don't know who said this, though I should, but, "it is better to let one guilty man go free than to imprison the innocent". I think that is apropos.

It really wasn't the system that failed,
It was the people who thought they were doing a good job..

From the detectives to good old Lance Ito. The evidence was there. It was the interpretation that left quite a bit to be desired.

If you can't 'win' a case like that one, you have to go back and look at what went wrong.

Blame it on Marcia Clark's hair.

Ok...I tried desperately to NOT pay attention to that trial. There are women murdered by abusive husbands/boyfriends all over this country and the media never bats a friggen eye. It makes me angry that this trial was given any more attention than any other trail. The justice system should be fair and equal right? Unfortuneatly it isn't, it has been proven that the rich can buy thier way out of just about any punishment for just about any crime.
If it were just some poor guy on trail for murdering his wife and he had THAT much evidence against him he would have been up the river in a heartbeat.

I did have a interest in the trial for the gal that ran over her husband in the parking lot of a hotel with her Mercedes...He was leaving the hotel after a little tryst, walked outside and the wife lost it. The whole thing was caught on tape....

I was waiting for the District Attorney to file charges against her for violating the warranty on the cars tires...

Apparently a cheating husband doesn't qualify as a
    "roadside hazard"..

No, that would be practicing medicine without a license.....while still a tort, it isn't a crime.
