When I gave Peanut her bath, I knew the sound of the faucet would scare her too, so what I did was put about an inch or two of water in the bathtub before I even brought her in the bathroom. Then I just used a cup to scoop the water up and poor over her. Then after she was all soaped up, I used the same water to get most of the soap out, but had to turn the faucet on to get fresh water to get all the soap out, so I just turned it on a little. It took longer to fill the cup up like this, but it didn't make any sound so she didn't get freaked out.
