Good luck Kelly with the tests. Everything is going to be ok, just don't worry, you may even make it worse.
I had a big problem when I was in Romania (University). I went ot the ER in the middle of the night (on Friday) with 40C and they sent me back saying I have to continue taking the same pills my doctor prescribed on Friday noon for a week. Paracetamol and Aspirine!!!!! No tests, of course! And I had a severe urinary infection, almost died from it. First of all, they didn't want to come to the dormitory to take me with the emergency ambulance - they don't provide services to student dormitories!!! Lucky me, the university doctor came to see me once again first thing on Monday morning. She was so scared, she complained to the regional Chief doctor and the next time, after a month, with exactly the same problem, they not only took very good care of me, also gave me injections for 2 more weeks for free.
So, your dr is still good

Good luck to you, hope they figure out what's wrong soon.

And when it comes to doctors, a lot of them are complete asses. I had such a rough time dealing with them all when my health was at its worst. Sorry that you are having to deal with that kind too >_<

Please sign my guestbook if you have the time

    Kelly I am sorry you are going through all of this. I know that the 'not knowing' is often the worst part of something like this. I will pray for you for peace of mind as you have to deal with the waiting and then the diagnosis, whatever it is, which hopefully will be something easy to treat. {{{hugs}}}

Sorry to hear you are in such pain Kelly. I hope that the tests they do show what is wrong. I know how it is when you have a problem & the dr's just can't seem to figure out what it is. Good luck & keep us posted on how you are feeling. You will be in my prayers.

You will be in my prayers, I am so sorry you are having so much pain, and even more frustrating to not know what it is.
My aunt went through something similar last year, and it was further advanced on her, but her brother and my mother both have the "intestinal problems" also. They all had colonoscopys, and my mom told me it really wasn't that bad, she didn't even know what was going on.
I'll keep you in my thoughts, and hope that they find out what is wrong, and that you are out of pain soon.

Exactly what I was thinking as I was reading how frustrated you were getting, but at least he finally called and you've got a plan of action now.

I'm glad you're being scheduled with a GI too. He's the specialist and will know much more about what's going on than the regular doctor.

Good luck and please let us know how things are going.

Dear Kelly, so sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Prayers and positive thoughts are on their way for you to find the right answer to your problems.
About Vicodin, in case your doctor didn't tell you, do not stop taking it cold turkey. Diminish the dose one day at a time. When I had emergency gall bladder surgery last year the surgeon, the nurses and everybody else who had anything to do with it, made sure to let me know that this was very important; this is true for any strong painkiller. If you cut it suddenly you may feel very sick and that's not something you need right now.
Hugs and best wishes for your speedy recovery.

How are you feeling today, Kelly?? Did you pick up the Vicodin? I really hope it helps cut down on your discomfort. Hopefully the colonoscopy will find some results so proper treatment can begin! Bless your heart!

Of course my thoughts and prayers are with you! I really hope to hear soon that they know what's wrong and that they can heal it quickly and easily. Best of luck to you as you face this fear and uncertainty that lies with the pain. Everybody here at Pet Talk is thinking of you!

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes and prayers.

I took my Vicodin last night at 7:00...it dulled the pain, but it was still there. I fell asleep last night sitting up on the couch (I feel better sitting up) and awoke at 12:10 a.m. having to pee. (all those liquids ) I was really dizzy and somehow made it to the restroom. Once I flushed, I got really dizzy and hot. I sat on the ground and called for my hubby. My stomach hurt and I was sweating, it was running down my legs! I pulled all my clothes off (yea...hubby must have thought I was crazy!) and sat there drinking 7-Up and some water. David helped me back to the couch and once seated, I felt that "wonderful" painkiller feeling and went back to sleep.

I woke up around 9:30 (phone call... ) and felt dizzy until noon. I'm feeling much better now, I even went to PetSmart with David to get meds for the fish (ICT).

I'll check with my dr. tomorrow to see when my appointment is. Can't wait. I'm not mad at him...he truely thinks that my diet will help me. I can understand where he's coming from...just not while I'm in pain.

Anyway, thank you again everyone. I'll let you know about the upcoming tests.

    Love,
    Kelly

Kelly, maybe I am over-reacting and ultra-careful about it, but, don't you think you shouldn't be drinking any synthetic drinks (esp. with gas) like 7up? I really think all these synthetic additives and gas it's not good for health, esp. in your situation.
Try to have mineral water, preferably without gas.
My colleague's husband had a very big problem with his stomach and intestines. He was supposed to have surgery. Right after he started the healthy diet, the pain eased, and now, after two years, without any surgery, he's another man. He also looks much younger now. He's still eating only healthy products, nothing synthetic.

That is so right !! Try like I did : fill a can with 1/6 of orange juice , and fill up with water.
Put it in the fridge . It is a great drink!!

I agree with you. I'm not drinking the 7-Up or anything unnatural besides eating the Jello. I only had a few sips to make the nausea go away. I am currently eating/drinking chicken broth, childrens apple juice, jello and water.

I'm still waiting to here when my colonoscope is...I'll call today. I just want it over with and to get better. My mom is freaking out, of couse, which really doesn't help. I know I'll be OK...I still have a lot to do on this earth.

When I call today...I want to see if he can prescribe me that NuLev too...I wonder if that could help??

I just posted a reply up in Cat's General. Hang in there. It's horrible where there are so many uncertain things going on and you have to wait. Very frustrating. It may be an obstruction like another poster mentioned. My mother went throught that because she has alot of scar tissue.

But it could be a whole other thing entirely. Everyone is routing for you. Keep the faith!
