I haven't seen it yet but I've been curious about it, I heard it was supposed to be darker. I haven't read the book but I've seen the original movie. I think the original movie was made in an era where "dark" movies weren't so much the thing and so they made it lighter, more of a family movie. I'll have to see this one, I'm even more curious now

I did like The Return to Oz with Faruza balk,

I loved the new Charlie and the chocolate factory, JD did a wonderful job as Willy Wonka, and all of the kids realy played their charactors well. I have watched most of the old Gene Wilder version and was enjoying it until the DVD died on me, i have another copy on order. And i may have read the book when i was a kid, i dont realy remember. I will try and find a copy and read it.
