Kaedyn had a chip in when we adopted him. I guess his past owners did it. The pound didn't even know he had a chip in him. We brought him in to be microchipped and just moments before the vet tech was about to put in the chip, she decided to scan him.. and TA-DA! A chip was in there with his past owner's info. Eesh.

I've been meaning to get Kai chipped but it won't be happening until I save up some money.

Duncan has a micro-chip too. It was done at the SPCA when I adopted him. He also wears a tag on his collar that tells a person that he has a chip. I can't remember the company it is through but I remember I had to list a next of kin for him in case somehting happens to me and they find him...

Gonzo has an Avid chip... it was totally painless (and he is such a baby - he would let us all know if it hurt at all) and didn't cost much. All together, for the chipping and registering it cost about $30. It's worth it!

    Dog Chips

Our dog has a chip. It is a requirement in Europe in order for the
dog to travel. They even have to have passports. I am in Europe
for two years. I can think of no valid reason not to have a chip in
a dog. It is easy for a dog to loose a collar and people can take them, but a chip is hidden and it is proof that it is your dog.

Wylie is chipped, they did it when I got him at the humane society.
He didn't seem to mind. You should get them scanned when they go to the vet I was told as with rough play etc the chip can come out.
