I agree. It depends on the individual Petco. Management is different in every one. In Pittsbrgh, there are three in my area. I've been in all three, and they all seem clean and well-kept. I volunteer with Cat Sense, and we hold adoptions in one Petco. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't give you two cents for PETA(yuck).
I've been to some Petcos where there have been dead and dying animals on display, it grossed me out. But, I have also been to other ones that look like they give great care to their animals.
That can happen at any petstore. Its not just Petco, other pet stores are worse. The Petland by me had 30 guinea pigs in a 15 gallon fish tank.

However (I add this every time this thread comes up) supporting a good petco is still supporting the chain. Blah blah blah, you all have heard it before....you know the bad ones exist, you know they get money when the good ones do....etc....
Thank you Wolf_Q!
I agree with the above post also I want to add that no matter how clean and nice thier stores are most are still being supplied by napd and that is the problem if they really cared they would find a new supplier!
Unfortuneatly most pet stores don't use good suppliers for thier pets. There simply is a lack of quality breeding facilites because they breed the animals en mase. Thats why, for example, I only get rats from small breeders. I feel much better if I can look at the parents and stuff.
