Oh, my, I am just gobsmacked ( a British saying ) but oh, so, so, happy for Sandi, and for you also! I am sure it is all going to work out fine because you have the patience and love to make it so. Bless you both!

What Steve meant to say was, we have decided to call him Sandy.

UPDATE. Sandy jumped out of the sofa bed base, consumed 2 days worth of cat biscuits, like a starved cat and jumped back into the sofa bed base

I guess me & Steve will be playing hunt the vomit later.

Looks like food is going to be the key with this boy.

PS. Bramble & Tigs are trilling/mewing outside Sandy's room they want to know who is in there. Cute.

It usually is. Hand feeding is a great way to gain trust.

Catgratulations to you and Sandy - YAY! An Orangie Boy! Time and patience, but you know that ..... I would sit in the bathroom with Mishi when he was new with me. It took a few days before he trusted me, and now he's my gentle giant lovebug. I'm sure Sandy will come around with your loving care and attention. More pics, please!

    He likes his food.

    Correction, he loves his food.

He was in the sofa bed.

Now he has moved to the cardboard box.

First, thanks for the pics. I think he will calm down and fit in fine, if you can already take pics of him with the flash like that. I thought we would not get pictures for a couple of days at the soonest.

Jen's idea of hand feeding him I think is one of the best. The quickest way to a kitties trust and heart is food.

Anyway, on to what I really wanted to say. I know from personal experience with a kitty that was a loving kitty in a happy home, then through circunstances had to live on a farm for a year and went feral, and then was able to be rehomed and was one of the most loving babies you have ever seen. I know that all cats are different, but I am pulling for you.

and their happy and willing slave, Bryan.

Many Thanks to Kay for the Picture.

Trevor wishes to personally welcome Sandy to Pet Talk! He is just so delighted that you have added an *ORANGIE* to your home! I would have to agree with everyone else here. Since Sandy knows what it is like to be a spoiled lap cat I think eventually you may find that he will soon be seeking a lap to purr away contentedly on once again. My guess is that he might have to boot another kitty or two off your lap first! LOL! Seriously, I think this is wonderful news. He seems to have clicked with you a long time ago and once you get a kitty under your skin, well...... Bless you for giving this boy a home! We will look forward to hearing lots of stories about how he is adapting! Congrats!

These are not the eyes of a fearful cat. He will have you eating out of his hand quite soon...........oops, Freudian slip......I MEANT to say he will be eating out of your hand real quickly.

Oh I am sooooooo very happy for you and Sandy! It looks to me to be an absolutely perfect match. I admire the two of you so much. You have such huge giving hearts and souls. I am just absolutely positive that it will take no time at all for Sandy to realize that his life has just changed again for the absolute better.

CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW ADDITION!!! Sandy's gorgeous and already looks like he's feeling more comfortable in your home. I'm sure he'll be a lap cat in no time.
