Speckles just drinks out of her water bowl beside her food.

Max, on the other hand, must, absolutely MUST drink his water from a stainless steel bowl that is on the right-hand side of the counter in the guest bathroom.
    - if it's on the other side of the counter he won't drink it
    - if it's on the proper side but in a different bowl he won't drink it
    - it it's on the floor beside his food dish he won't drink it
    - if it's on the proper side of the counter in the ensuite bathroom he won't drink it.

    Am I well-trained or what???

Sid and Jan just tend to drink out of their water bowl - boring.

Joxer likes the water bowl, the toilet, the bathtub, and the bird-bath. If we turn on a sprinkler and put down a plate or something to catch the water, he'll drink off of that.

Back when Jan was a little kitty - she used to lick the water off of the tops of my feet when I got out of the shower.

I love hearing all the little quirks regarding cats.
My cat, Chloe, will only drink from a vase that use to be on the kitchen ledge. We have moved it onto the floor, but she refuses to drink from anything else.

My cat Squeak will only drink from her water bowl or fountain. Bernie on the other hand will drink from anything. I've found Bernie trying to drink from a toilet bowl, shower, sink and puddle (that he's made from the fountain). If you pour yourself a glass of water he'll follow you around meowing for you to share. I think he just likes to play in it!

Slick, Thanks for the welcome. I'm still trying to get used to how this is all set up. You can view my kitties under my name. Squeak is the black one & Bernie is the gray.

    (Welcome to PETTALK!)

For over a year I had a separate bowl for Kylie and Keegan. Then I noticed Kylie wouldn't drink out of her bowl even if it is fresh. She would drink out of the dog bowl. So now I have just one large bowl for both!

    Bathtub spigot--measuring cup!

My Julie (meow!) varies her MO about drinking just like she does everything else. (I have heard that felines instinctively do this so as not to establish too clear a pattern that could be figured out by predators.)

Anyhow...for a while she HAD to get up on the ledge of the bathtub and crane her neck so she could lick the drops off the bathtub spigot. She also LOVES to drink out of my two-cup Pyrex measuring cup. I discovered this while using the measuring cup to water my plant. When Julie heard the water running into the cup, she came running herself! She displayed such interest and eagerness that I set the cup down for her. She drank from it like it held the nectar of the gods.

So now I have a measuring cup full of water in my bedroom and another "regular" water dish by her food in the kitchen...lately I never see her drinking out of the kitchen dish, but I still put it down for her just in case. And she seems to have gone off the bathtub spigot lately, too!

    Where do the cats drink

Siva drinks ice water in a glass on the kitchen counter. Wooz likes the bathroom sink but also enjoys the ice water on the counter. Mr. Checks likes my glass of water best but if I put 18 bowls of water throughout the house, he'd drink from every one of them and truly love it. Sweetie Pie likes the ice water, too, but also likes to lick water off my fingers. They make me laugh with their habits and personalities. Each one is so different!

I found a PetMate water fountain in the "clearance" table at Petco. It was originally $39.99 marked down to $19.99 because it didn't have a filter. I bought a package a filters for it and they absolutely LOVE it!!!

I had bought a cheaper fountain from one of those gadget catlogs and they never used it. So I figured the PetMate fountain was the best investment I ever made!!

Ritz drinks from her water bowl...she also occasionally makes "mouse tea" in her water bowl by dunking her fake mousies (this is INTENTIONAL, I've witnessed it) and letting them float about, then digging them out...sometimes they stay for a swim.

Ritz also likes to jump in the bathtub but it doesn't seem to be to drink. I don't know if it's because she watches us shower every day and thinks she should too, but she gets in there, sticks her whole head under the drips and lets them run down her head, face and back...then jumps out and licks herself down. She also catches drips in her paw and licks them off...

Oh, and if you come to our house and take a shower, don't be shocked if Ritz is standing outside waiting for you to pull the curtain back and "dribble" water from your hand onto her face. She puts her face up and moves it from side to side so she gets "covered"....then proceeds with the aforementioned cleaning lick-down!

    Silly kitty

    Cats' drink

Ritz is a creative little one, eh? I like the mouse tea. I'll have to talk to my herd about that one!

My youngest furkid, Checks, is about 3 months old and waits on the bathmat until I emerge from the shower so she can lick my feet. I think she does it for the reaction. (I have ticklish feet!) When she's finished, she sits back and looks up at me with this expression on her face that says, "my job here is done."

    Silly kitties. . . .
    Love my furrkids!

Sylvester will only drink out of the bathroom faucet or if I put fresh water in his bowl. I'm concerned when we go away for a day or two he won't have any water. I was thinking about purchasing a water fountain, but I'm not sure if he'll use it.
