You went out of your way to help him & you also saved him from future pain. In the short time you had with him you made a difference. Even though it's difficult and emotional, you did what was best for Caramel above your own needs.

That is the ultimate gift. RIP Caramel.

I took him to the vets, they asked if I'd like to stay or just leave him. I thought staying was the least I could do for him.

God, I wish I hadn't. It's an image that will stay for me a long time.

    Dearest Carmel,

I am sorry you had such a tough life on the street. You were lucky to find such nice folks to ease your pain and let you go to Rainbow Bridge.

Please say hi to Gabe and Grammy Crackers for me.

    Go Softly,

I am very sorry to hear of your loss,he is a beautiful boy. I think it is wonderful you took him into a loving home, even though it was for a breif time. He is now at peace.

This thread has left a big lump in my throat, poor caramel, if only he had not been neglected, its a very sad outcome , but i hate the thought of him having to have suffered and continue to do so, you did the right thing, bless you both, and i believe in my heart he knew that, take comfort in knowing you gave Caramel the loving he deserved and was there for his last moments. You are both very brave and i admire your courage, thank you for caring so much and of course for taking Sooty (Treacle).

I'm so sorry you had to be put through this. Cats are so special, orangies seem to tug the heart even more for me. I would be heartbroken, I am for you.

Like I said in my PM, I really beleive that there was a reason Carmel came to you at this time. Could you imagine him out there alone, being so ill? I'm just so glad he found a person with your heart to help him...you've given him a wonderful gift of love.

He's probably eating yummy fish and cat grass at the bridge, happily awaiting your arrival. I can just see the look on his cutie face following a butterfly with his eyes...

What a wonderful thing you did to open up your heart to Caramel. He knew you loved him and that's all that matters. RIP dear Caramel. Have fun at the RB.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I like to think, he knew that we would stop his pain and that is why he came to us.
I truly believe that this is why Caramel came to you. I'm so sorry to hear that he had so many problems, but I'm glad that you were able to give him the peace he deserved, and I'm also so glad that he was able to know your love before being called to RB.

RIP sweet Caramel. Even though we knew you for such a short time, your sweet face will be missed.
