Thread: Florida PT'ers

We're all fine here. We're getting hit now pretty good right now. I live between prechrswife and Daisy and Delilah.

Tuesday night we got some pretty strong winds that caused a little damage to the shed attached to the horse stables. The horses are all fine and safe.

Last night we lost power for about 3 hours. We've had it all day today though, Hopefully it'll stay that way.

Right now we're just getting a lot of rain and wind.

My dad works in Brevard county and said it's a real mess over there. The water was up to the door of his SUV. On the news they said that as of last night parts of Brevard had already gotten 25 inches of rain from Fay and they would be getting more today.

I gotta say it's been a terrible day here at my house. We're still getting pummeled. I hope it stops soon. I can't believe we still have power.

My sister in Flagler Beach is in a lull right now she said but you never know what might happen later. Kari, thanks for checking in. My son says all is well at his place except for a leak on his back porch. Also, his dogs are upset because they can't go to the dog park

    Stay safe troops!!

I keep checking on this thread whenever I can get on. I am glad to hear that there hasn't been any major damage for any PTers. I hope it stays that way. I have to call my Dad tonight (Fort Pierce), hope he has power.

Boy!! I'll say. When you come up with the solution, let me know.

It's been simply awful here. I just heard that the storm is slowing down again. I can't believe it. My yard is under water. I've never seen it this bad before. The power has been on and off all day. I lost my tv cable but got it back. The news reports are starting to come in about my town flooding. What a mess!!!

Best wishes to everybody. Joyce, I hope your Dad is ok and has power. I just talked to my Mom in Ormond Beach. She got her power back and seems to be fine. I am sorry to hear that a lady drowned on the beach over there today. The lifeguards had the red flags up to warn everybody. There was no one there on the scene to save her-a crew had to be called and it was too late. She was only 35.

I saw the report in our paper today about the lady drowning - at least one - maybe not the same one. She was from Indiana. I just don't understand why people think they have to try something when it is obviously not safe.

I got an e-mail from Delidog who lives in Port Luce. Some of you newcomers may not recognize the name but she used to post a lot when I first started posting. Anyway they are doing fine. They lost electricity for 24 hours but the house is holding up great. Much better than Frances and Jean - they lost power for 11 and 13 days with them.

Carl lived in Melbourne a few years ago - he took a transfer when his company closed here and he could move to Florida. I never moved down because he nor more than got there when they started talking outsourcing his job to Malasia which would mean another lay off and 18 months after he started that is what happened. He went through 2 tornadoes there and I don't think you could ever get him to move back to Florida then. I had flown down to visit him and the one came in - I couldn't get on my flight back home because they closed the airport. It was very scary and even scarier to see the after pictures of places we had been the day before. He ended up driving me back to Ohio so we "beat" the storm out.

I hope and pray that all of you down there do not get too much damage - I can't image how awful it must be to get so much rain at once. And know the storm may turn and come back at you.

It's still raining here. I think the storm is finally moving away from me but I'm right in the middle of it now for three days. My yard is flooded but thank goodness, we're dry inside so far. Please send out some PT prayers for all of us down here. We really appreciate it.

Floridians; Please check in so we know everyone is ok.

We seem to be through the worst of it now. We got hit pretty hard last night and had our longest power outage of the storm. Just thought I would share a few ocean pictures my husband made yesterday when we were in the eye of the storm, and it was safe to walk down there. He couldn't believe the number of people who were actually in the water--not a good idea at all!

Yikes, you all on the east coast got it pretty bad. Over here on the west coast we got pretty lucky. We got rain yesterday, overnight and again today. Some small branches have come down in our yard but nothing major except a dead tree (it wasn't too big) that was in the yard behind us came down and crushed that section of the fence. The dogs are unaware as they went out and didn't try to escape. There is quite a bit of brush along the fence so it doesn't allow them to escape. Here's to fence fixing......

We haven't lost power like the east coast has. Stay safe everyone over there.

Fay is finally moving out of here too. We still have some yucky weather, but for the first time in days we've seen the sun peek through. Actually as I type the rain is coming down pretty hard again. Our field is flooded and most of our yard is sloshy.

These first few are from yesterday-

The shed on the stables was damaged a bit

    Comet and Cisco

Ruby- I haven't introduced her to you yet. She's an old rescued girl who recently joined Comet and Cisco. She has really bad skin, but it's being treated.

    water in the field

one of the 10,000 noisy frogs that have taken over the field

(A few more in the next post)

These next few are from this morning

The water has reached the stables

That's all that's left of the "dry" land. And by dry I mean sloshy, but not completely covered by water.

Comet loved playing in the water

    Comet playing again

Ruby is an old girl and she was having a hard time in the flooded field so we brought her into the dog yard which isn't flooded. The boards in the front of the picture are to keep her off the porch.
