I've posted these links for you because I had a cat with idiopathic Chylothorax. She ended up having a pretty extensive surgery. Please read through these threads, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
I found that the Rutin did not do any good.. in fact sometimes it seemed to make things worse. Bassett never took anything but Rutin; she took lasix for a short period of time and also prednisone but when no underlying cause was found those drugs really weren't necessary because they don't really help with the chylothorax. Bassett was lucky in that she didn't have a severe cough which seems to go along with the disease, so the prednisone wasn't needed.
