The 'ch' in German has a little edge to it like almost like a 'k' but not quite, like when classical music buffs say Bach. 'Hund' is the German word for dog and has the same Anglo-Saxon origin as our word 'hound.' It is pronounced with a 'u' sound somewhere between 'put' and 'boot.' The German 'd' is very hard, almost like a 't,' but not quite. Therefore: Dahks-hoondt, but keep the second syllable short.
