I am not sure where you live in New Foundland, but is there a woman's shelter near by that she could at least talk with someone. When a woman is in that type of situation she has to make the decision to leave and no one can force her. But it might help for her to have someone to talk with. A woman's shelter would at least be able to provide some immediate counselling even if she is not quite ready to leave yet.
