Just heard an update on the story. The woman was interviewed and said her kitty's name is Whiskers and is a tabby cat. I wish they would show a picture of him! When asked by the reporter if he was assured of room and board for the rest of his life, she said "YES!" and was grinning from ear to ear! Unfortunately the assailant is still on the loose, but I don't think he'll try her house again!
