I've never been in the situation where I had to leave my cats while they needed meds. I always have one of the responsible kids round about come in and feed them if we are away, we are very lucky with our neighbours. Our cats are terrified of anyone but us though, and if they needed meds, I think my only option would be to board them at the vet. I wouldn't like to ask any neighbour to have all their skin clawed off so my cats could stay in their own home.
