Dear sweet beautiful Clarice
Grand Dame of the household
Beloved by all, and ruler of hearts
Wing your way to peaceful sleep
And know your reign in our hearts will last forever
Sleep, dear one, and ease your troubled breath
We'd take the pain from you in a heartbeat if we could
It pains us so to see you struggle

Dear sweet beautiful Clarice
For 14 years you've woven yourself
Around our ankles and into our lives
Batted those blue eyes until we succumbed
And we loved you, we love you still
Your patience with us, human, canine, feline, lagamorph et al
Has been as much of a part of the house
As the floors you tread, the doorways you'd rub against

We'll always have you, dear sweet Clarice
It's okay now, wing your way to heaven
And rest. You'll still be here, just around the corner
A solid presence in your always favorite spots
And most of all forever in our hearts.
