Letting my previous Norton Anti Virus program lapse led to my computer being infected horribly with virus'. Spyware too was at work and that was the worst...it was changing all my settings, not letting me access websites, causing me to crash constantly, shutting down everytime I tired to write anything. And the pop ups were coming every 30 seconds. For me at least, AdWare was of no help and only made things worse. An IT guy checked it out and since my computer was over 4 years old, suggested I get a new one. I love the new Norton 2004. I love all the options and alerts and flexibility it allows me with prefs and it lets me identify Spam email and then blocks them too. I too get those alerts, telling me what worm or virus was attempting to hack in and automatically blocks it. Both my Norton and Microsoft security programs have ad blocking feataures. I haven't had one pop up with this computer yet!
