T & P MOM....Is that Cosequin a anti inflamatory medicine or for arthritis or what? Sounds like a good possiability it may help Amy, that is why I am asking. Cold weather and dampness seems to aggervate her problem but soon as the weather perks up, so does she... Not that I expect anything to be a cure. I plan to ask her vet about that and see what he says..

Slick, sorry to barge in on your thread but Max sounded like Amy only her probelm was from the womb or created in birth. Her back legs, especially her left one is terriably weak, she wobbles on it and falls over a lot with it.. It is very weak, even on a good day and she walks real stiff legged in the rear. She has NO pain associated with her problem unless she takes a good fall, which she does TO often for me and you can see she is either to stunned to move or there is pain and she can't.. Glad Max is doing OK now..

I think it's for arthritis. It's a "natural" remedy, not considered a drug I guess. I guess I don't know that much about it. I asked the vet if Tubby might have arthritis. She felt his spine and gave me some Cosequin and didn't really tell me much about it - and I guess I didn't ask that much about it. I'd do a search on Google but I don't have much time on the computer today. If you can't find anything before I get back here, I'll do a search for you and see what I can find.

I think it might help Amy too. At the very least it's worth asking the vet about.

Good grief, no need to apologize. That's the nice thing about threads, they can take a different turn and everyone learns something new. I'm sorry about Amy. It must be painful at times.

Max is totally back to normal now so I know it was just a muscle pull of some kind. I'm definitely going to look into the Cosequin too.

When I first jumped into this thread, it was to tell all about an overweight, and diabetic (pill) of a cat. Jesabelle was on the verge of being euthanised as she was deficating, and urinating all over the house. I cat sit for her slave Anne, and also clean her place. After watching this grossly over weight cat try to stoop in a tiny litterbox, I changed things around. Anne is quite quirky in that she would put litter pans into larger storage boxes. I one day dumped the litter from the tiny pan into the storage box, and the problem was solved. Anne got Jesabelle some cosequin, and Jesabelle gets around much better now! It does seem to help animals.

Thanks Slick for not minding and I think I have a good possiability of finding something to help Amy's neroulocial problems because of this thread. NOT a cure, there never will be a cure, but something to help her on those cold damp days...

Queenscoopalot, thanks for your input, that is the one that cinched it for me to go ask my vet about this natural thing. It is worth a TRY anyway... I just keep thinking there HAS to be something MORE I can do for her and I doubt I will ever quit trying. She is such a sweet baby and she has me totally wrapped around her little pawsies, all she has to do is give me "that look" and I melt....and she knows it!!

I'm so sorry I missed this due to my own back problems!

But I'm happy for you and Max that he's back to normal! Poor Max, I know these back pains are no fun! Take good care of you!
