I think the rating system could be confusing to some.....

I didn't think that it was a popularity poll, it may have been thought of it as such......For me, it let me know that there was something posted there that another PTer thought may be interesting, held some valuable info or was of general interest.

I never rated a thread, but I did find some interesting stuff in threads that HAD been rated. I don't think that kitties dying would make a thread popular.....I think that the 'four star' rating was given by someone who thought that their plight was worth a look.

I tend to miss some good threads because I don't have a way to judge their content, other than the titles......

compared to what life has to give you.....

I rather not worry about having one star on a thread, a more immediate concern of mine is getting a one star vote of confidence from my boss at work. THAT would hurt.
