Celebrating Valentines day has only been in NZ for around five years , so its a new experience for most of us,so in my younger days there was no such celebration.

Hubby and I celebrate it, but we donot go overboard, I have a card and we are going to the movies thats it, but its the quality time alone that we will have that is important and special, We don't need a certain day set aside to celebrate our love for one another, infact our anniversary means way more to me than some over-commercialised day.
I would like to share the words on my card with you.
A VALENTINE POEM FOR MY HUSBAND

For the man who took me as his bride,
whose kisses leave me starry-eyed,
who understands my every mood,
Whose patience rarely comes unglued,
The man who knows I'm not a saint,
(and lets me know he's glad I ain't).
Who shares my secret dreams and wishes,
And (sometimes) helps me do the dishes,
The man I fuss at now and then,
But love to make up with again.
My faithful friend and sympathiser,
My handyman and big supriser,
The one who makes my life complete,
Who warms my heart,
and my cold,cold feet,
'The man I love the whole year through,
THE WORLD'S BEST HUSBAND HONEY YOU.
These words really describe how I feel about my hubby and are so true. hope you don't mind me sharing.

P.S. Even though I think Valentines day is not really necessary and people just go over the top sometimes, its up to each individual what they do, and I respect that, and besides I am really just a hopeless Romantic at heart, Hubby is not really the Romantic type, but he will celebrate it because he knows it's something I like to do.(besides I have all those young year's I missed out to make up for) with the love of my life.
