Well, I am suprised you didn't make us sign a WAIVER with all that rules nonsense...

I agree with Amy...I think I would leave quietly, letting those that are important to me know my reason(s). After all, that is how I would conduct myself in any 'group'...be it work, social, sports, etc. Letting people know so that there isn't concern, AND cause it is the polite way to be.

As far as posting the attention seeking threads, "I am leaving"...I think it is far more reasonable to say, "I am mad right now" giving people the forum to address any issues. Then, the person doesn't look like the 'Boy Who Cried Wolf' so much. But, that prolly comes with age and experience.

I imagine some people think, "I don't HAVE to tell..." or, "I don't OWE anyone anything.."...and I think those people are more focused on reacting to other's behaviour than on carrying out their own actions. None of us, in the true sense, really OWE or HAVE to do much. It is who we are inside that requires us to live by a certain standard.

Now, I MUST leave PT right now. See, I ate 1/2 bag of cheetos, and if I don't go to the gym, I am afraid I might die of orange food coloring overdose.

Great thread, PIF!
