They couldn't do anything to defend themselves. While I am 100% against animal abuse as everyone else here, I am even more against human abuse. I would criticize someone who seriously abuses humans (like Saddam did) more than someone who abuses animals. While I *hate* both animal abuse, and human abuse, and am dead against anyone who abuses or brings harm to either, in my opinion, human life comes before animal life. I would save an innocent suffering human before an innocent suffering animal, and go for the animal next. That's a good question Carol. I was wondering the same thing.
