thanks everyone.......

I was going to hold out on this B-day story but.....

Growing up I hated my birthday......As I grew older I learned to roll with the punches. You see, my dad's b-day was the 8th of November.

Every year my sibs would ask, "What are we doing for Dad's B-day????" The cake would be bought and in all the preparation
my name would be added as an afterthought, to the cake with the icing in the tube...

So I would see HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD in beautiful icing.......and my
name scrawled in an empty space somewhere on top!!!

As I said, I grew used to 'second billing' and deeply wanted to change my birthday to a summer date-selfish huh? I wanted a
nice warm day to celebrate!!

Well two years ago fate, age and my Dad passing away fixed me, but good.

My dad was a quiet man with a sly sense of humor.....

He passed away on Oct 31, we buried him on Nov 5 and we'll have a little celebration for him on the 8th.

So my family is still asking, 'What are we doing for dad's birthday???'

And you know, I'm just fine with that.
