Oh yeah, and there's no difference as far as hair growth between threading, waxing and tweezing. I've never heard of anyone scarring themselves from tweezing.

Threading, tweezing, and waxing done over a long period of time will damage the hair follicle and retard hair growth.

Shaving does not make the hair come back thicker/coarses and faster. That's an old wives tale. When hair grows back from shaving it's a blunt and sharp end that feels thick and coarse. When hair grows back from waxing/threading/tweezing it's a soft/tapered end that doesn't feel coarse.

    Did that make sense? lolololol

I like my hairdresser, but I only go maybe 4 times a year - when it gets so long that it's bugging me, or if there's a family "event" coming up. I like her because she listens to me, and does what I want. The worst for me was when I was in college, I went to my Mom's trusted hairdresser - but he was out sick, so they gave me to someone else, who put mousse in my hair that I was allergic to. (I normally ask them not to put anything in, but some hairdressers seem to do it without asking or thinking.) My hair has a mind of its own (as any who have met me can attest) and so I can barely guess what it will look like one day to the next - other than brown, it can vary from almost straight to curly and poofy! But it is mine, and I've got a very full head of hair, so I count my blessings.

My very first job was in a wig shop. I sold wigs to various women who had over-permed, over-colored, and done such awful things to their hair that it was brittle, breaking off and falling out. No thanks, not for me! I rarely even blow-dry it, just wash, comb and wear.
