I thought long and hard about everything everyone said. I went to look at my new surroundings and took a break from everything for a few days. When I returned home, I went to talk to the woman who runs the shelter Grace is in. She stated that Grace needed to be in a home- she is at least 6 years and being at the shelter was doing her no good. Foster homes had fallen thru and because of her age and size, she hadn't had much interest. I decided to at LEAST foster her.

I took her home 8 days ago-- she has been both at my home and my friend's home ( the one who is moving with me).

She is a riot!!! She had no idea what to do inside the house. It is quite apparent to me that she was used only as "breeding stock" and not treated as a family member. She had only one accident and caught on to house training quickly. She gets along great with my dogs and my friend's dogs. It is hard to believe that she is 6 because she keeps up with my friend's Aussie Shephard.

I have resigned to letting it all flow, one way or the other it should all work out. This way, I know what kind of dog she is and if someone comes along with a good forever home, great. Otherwise, at this point, she is making herself part of our extended family. Even if it is for a short period of time, I know I am making a difference in her life-- and her in mine.

Thanks so much for all the input!!
