Oh yes, they are worth the work They need lots of veggies, I feed mine veggies 2 times a day. Their cage needs to be spot-cleaned every day, and once a week, needs to be broke down and washed (ugggh, I keep it extra clean, so I do it about once every 2-3 weeks). They need extra vitamin c, they can't produce it themselves, and need lots and lots of attention But they are great animals, especially for little kids. They tame easily, and are much more 'substantial' than a gerbil or hamster; much more 'hands on'
