Edwina , I used to feel that way too. after all I hvae to share my house with 12 other Cats! and there are more strays outside , waiting for food and love. I was mad , but after I talked to the new Cats i raelized that I was so Lucky to have a Good Home and to share what I have with cats who are not so fortunate!
