Since social dominance and adherance to rank in the pack is the basis for how wolf society is structured, many times wolves within a pack will exhibit such behaviors. They can be anything from postures and vocalizations to physical contact. A lot of times a dominant wolf will muzzle bite a lower ranking wolf, and if the lower ranking wolf is not submissive, this can sometimes lead to jaw sparring.
