We have four. When our second oldest joined us, she was very wary of our oldest, but they are friends now. Number 3 was just tossed into the mix and he is fine with the two older ones. Number 4 gets along with the oldest one, but is frightened of Number 2 and sometimes Number 3. We didn't really separate them, but just said 'Here you go, here's your new friend.'
