You sound like wonderful people, and I'm so happy George has a good home with you now - maybe that's why he was at the centre so long, because he wanted to wait for you!

I have an "only kitty" too, and I wonder sometimes if he is lonesome. He does come out to greet me when I get home, most times, but he doesn't seem OVERLY excited to see me. I think he entertains himself pretty well by watching our pet rats and messing up my rugs by playing with his catnip toys when we're not home.

My girl kitty I had before was an incurable head sleeper - but she slept ON my head, directly over my face or my ear if I was turned sideways. I woke up a lot of nights spitting cat fur out of my mouth, or couldn't fall asleep because of the deafening purr being funneled directly into my ear. When she passed away, that first night without her was almost unbearable.........

Welcome to Pet Talk, by the way!
