Today I was out and was trying to find a spot in the parking lot - the lot is next to a pool/pond that is probably half the size of a football field.
As I looked over, I saw a squadron of geese - 10-12? - in formation, flying towards me.
They gently set down in the pond joining another dozen birds already swimming in the water.
-------------
I don't know what it is about geese.
I am not a 'bird' person and usually don't pay close attention to the other kinds of birds in the area but I do love me some geese.
The one thing that struck me about this sighting is how LARGE those suckers are.
In Lost Angeles you NEVER see birds as large as that anywhere in the area - the closest might be a hawk or eagle, but you have to be near the hills to catch one?
Growing up, we owned a pet goose that was really neat to have waddle around the place (Hated the turd problem tho) so maybe that is where the fascination began?
I am almost tempted to but a few loaves of day old bread and go out a feed me some birds?
