Is the reason you started Pet of the Day first, Miss Hoppy? When did you get her, and from where?

No, we started Pet of the Day first, as that covers dogs and cats as well as other animals. We did not have Miss Hoppy yet at that point. During the first year, the dogs and cats overwhelmed the other animals in terms of nominations, so we gave them their own respective sites a year later!

We got Miss Hoppy - she was my birthday present that year - once we had bought our house, in 1998 I think. We looked around, and none of the shelters we called had bunnies - this was long before pet finder.com, etc., so we got her at our local pet store. She was the one curious one in the cage who hopped right over to my hand instead of running away from it - so we chose each other!
