A Boston weather forecaster said the worst of the winds were probably over a couple hours ago, but it is still very blustery here. Not much rain now, but earlier in the day it was alternately pouring, just raining, or just drizzling. Lots of folks in the area are without power, including other in our town, but we are okay so far.

I keep checking back to see how you all are doing. I KNOW what it's like to be without power--either from ice storms or hurricanes--not fun. You all hang in there and be careful.

Since we live in the middle of the woods, we were hit with a lot of downed trees and wires. We lost power on Monday and are not expected to have power until Nov. 11th. I am staying at the emergency shelter during the day and going back home at night to take care of Neko.

My granddaughter in north Jersey still had no power as of last night. She lives in an oceanfront condo and had to evacuate and they haven't been allowed back into the area yet - they are telling them maybe this weekend. She and her boyfriend went to one of his relative's houses to weather the storm, but things aren't much better there with no power, and they can't get out until the roads are cleared of beach sand and debris. She said she's seen pics of her condo, and the first floor is pretty much buried in sand.

Michelle, could Neko come with you to the shelter, or would that be more traumatic for him than being home alone?

Karen, from what I read on Michelle's Facebook page, animals are not allowed at the shelter. Michelle mentioned also that it's gonna be freezing cold; I'm very worried about Neko and her at this point. Wish I could help.

I saw the same thing on her Facebook page and I am worried about them too. Not sure how I might help.
