I heard on the news today something I didn't know about fencing- it is a very old sport and has been in every occurrence of the modern Olympics. I got into curling two years ago, and the fencing interests me because it seems to need skill and careful strategy to score points. After watching the swimming and diving I want to learn how to dive smoothly into a swimming pool instead of always going to the ladder.

Fencing is very interesting. I like watching two skilled athletes fence.
As far as diving goes, I prefer the ladder. Too many flops for me. And wear a one piece if you are diving.

I know, they're in many countries; maybe we Germans are especially touchy when it comes to this due to our history. We're still bearing this "collective guilt" with us, and probably will for a long time.
