I was sitting on a sofa and all of a sudden I got tapped on my shoulder. I turned my head and saw a young black cat sitting there, looking at me.

I LOVE when kitties choose their forever people! What a great story! Jet, you are so magnificently handsome and you have quite the career as a therapy kitty! How wonderful that you have brought joy and smiles to many people. Happy Cat of the Day to you!

p.s., my kitty is also a "senior", so I understand about hoping for the best.

Dear, beautiful Jet!

What a privilege it is to make your acquaintance, sweetheart, to have the chance to honor you for a life well lived, for 13 amazing years of selfless devotion to others, human and furry! I admit, your story, your heart wrenching photos (especially the one of you posing so proudly with your 2009 Volunteer Calgary Animal Volunteer of the Year award), had me in tears. You've touched so many lives over your 17 years, and no one more profoundly than your Mommy, who is truly blessed to have been touched by your unconditional love and devoted companionship these many years. As she says, you truly are one in a MILLION, and the healing, the joy and laughs and smiles you have brought to so many over the course of your service, a priceless gift. A very special place in heaven has been reserved for you, Jet, though I have a feeling your work on this earth is far from done!

Congrats on being COTD! Glad to hear of all the patients you have helped through the years. My twin sister and I used to smuggle our kitties in our coats as children when we visited people in the nursing home. I think it was just for our enjoyment, but I realize now that the people we visited probably got a kick out of seeing some cool cats. This was in the early 1980's. It is really neat to see now that the medical facilities have caught on that pets are good therapeutic treatment for patients. Thanks again for being one cool kitty! Robin

As a Mom to 3 now deceased therapy cats, your story brought tears to my eyes. There is nothing more touching than to see a therapy cat at work. It is not work to them, they have an innate sense who needs their special therapy most. Jet is one of those great cats!!! I am so sorry to read that Jet's health is not well, but I know he is lovingly cared for. Such a special cat of the day!!!

We are so pleased to meet you Jet, this is Tubster Panther and Ebony Beau Tubster Two at the Found Cat Hotel.
We too are Found Black Cats and we took that same approach , we let the kindly Old Man know that we needed a new home and like your Special Friend he took us in.
