Suggest a cat food for my cats

I've been feeding my 4 older cats grain free canned and dry for several years now. Only Ziggy still has a bit of a weight problem. I don't and can't free feed because I have some real piggy cats and the others wouldn't get their fair share. I'm currently feeding Storm,Sky, Pearl, and Ziggy Wellness Core dry and they also get Wellness grain free canned in the chicken, turkey, chicken&herring, and turkey&salmon flavors. Unfortunately Alani & Blaze didn't do well on these foods so they're on a different diet that does have some grains but it doesn't have any corn or wheat.

If you do decide to try a grain free diet I'm sure that you'll notice:
less stool waste
weight loss
more active cats
happier cats
healthier cats
one con is stinkier stools though

I'm definitely going to do it. I can't get over to Petco this week so I ordered a bag online to be delivered to my house. I want them to be as healthy as they can. They are the furry loves of my life!

I feed Blue Wilderness Chicken and Weight-loss varieties. Most of the kitties like the chicken and Sam likes the weight-loss. He's the one that needs it , too.

For wet food since Sam has teeth issues and Emily has stomach issues, I feed Eagle Holistic Salmon and Shrimp. All like and eat it. I do add other flavors on top for variety, such as Appetizers or Sardines in aspic.

Mine do really well on these foods.

I, too, am in the process of the grain free change. Pinot is thriving on Blue Wilderness dry with a spoonful of Blue Wilderness (&Spa) mixed up with some water. She does like her gravy . Her weight has so far not been affected, not that it's a problem at all, but we're still mixing with the rest of the Science Diet dry until that's gone.

Not to hijack your thread, but I feed grain free for several reasons. Almost 20 years ago the two females were sick and I switched to a non-name brand. It worked and thus began my odyssey. Along came Spunky and he has allergies and kidney stones when fed junk. He'll throw up cheap food and now won't eat something new unless I give it to him. That's his decision. Really.

Sam can eat anything but does have teeth problems. Emily has a sensitive stomach. Jane is just plain finicky. She was starving when I found her and still she wouldn't eat certain foods. She likes Blue so that's what I feed. She could actually stand to lose a pound at this point.

Bob I don't know about. But he does like meal times at my house.

Is Blue Wilderness really good??? I was gonna go back to California Natural, but that has grains in it as well. SIGH.

Ok, so after talking to a few people on FB and a few rescue people I'm mixing AVODERM and SIMPLY NOURISH to see if that will help with the looooooooose poos and the tummy upsets. I sure hope so!! Simply nourish has a limited ingredient list, so I thought that would be a good choice, and Avoderm came highly recommended. If it's poos don't clear up, a vet visit will be in order for my new guy, because his is just like soup. YUCK!!

Blue Buffalo canned is a bit rich. I feed it as a treat or a topper ofr their regular canned food.

I feed Wilderness Dry. Avoderm is rich for my kittehs but they like it as a topper and really just like the juice.

What they really like is Eagle Holistic canned, Salmon and Shrimp. I started using it after rescuing Emily, who was having stomach issues from all the garbage she had been eating. hers were like soup, too.

It's a lot better. Not perfect, but better. Probably would be great if I stopped with the toppers.

NEVER EVER feed your babies IAMS. A few years ago pamela Anderson did a video on IAMS and they do test on animals it was small cages with multiple cats and dogs with chunks of bodies missing out !!!! That day I threw out all the IAMS in my house and went to purina

I've been feeding Fister Royal Canin's "Mobility" and "Senior" for quite some time, and he gets a bit of "Sensitive" too. On the bags it says: Vetenary Exclusive. I cannot buy it in ordinary pet shops, only at the vets. Fister seems to thrive on it. I do give him a bit of Whiskas wet food, the one in pouches that has gelé in it. I pour a bit of boiled water in it also, since he licks the juice off and mostly leaves the rest.

I would like to try some of the grain free, but I have not seen it here. In this link (thanks again, Freedom!) it does say which ingredients are in it, but not what age the various products are for. Fister is 15 and I believe he should not have too much protein. Is that right?
